What runs on VPS.SC

Everything is made in a project. Machines, volumes, firewalls and floating IPs stay in the region chosen when they are made.

Machines and storage

  • Virtual machinesShared or dedicated vCPUs, memory, a boot disk, a port speed and a public IPv4 address. Start, stop and restart them, and open the console in the browser.
  • VolumesDisks that outlive their machine: attach one to a machine, detach it, attach it to another.
  • Snapshots and backupsSnapshots of a machine, and backups taken by hand or on a schedule that keeps the newest 1 to 30. Either can be restored.

Networking

  • FirewallsRules for the traffic in and out of a machine’s public address. A machine accepts all traffic unless a rule denies it.
  • Floating IPsExtra IPv4 addresses that move from one machine to another.
  • CDNZones that serve your files, uploaded over SFTP or with an API key, on your own domains too.

Team and access

  • A team with rolesInvite people to a project as Admin, Member or Viewer. Viewers can look, but not change anything.
  • Two-step verificationEvery account signs in with its password and a six-digit code from an authenticator app, set up at the first sign-in.
  • ActivityEverything done in a project: what, to what, by whom and when.
  • TicketsQuestions and problems go to the platform team as tickets from the Workspace.

Getting an account

Accounts come by invitation: there is no public sign-up.

  2. Accept the invitationIt comes by email. Its link works for 7 days.
  3. Set up two-step verificationAt the first sign-in, with an authenticator app. It cannot be skipped.
